CATHEDRAL EVENTS

Choral Evensong – May 19, beginning at 4:00 PM. Please join us for the final Choral Evensong for the program year, in the Cathedral. This month St. Mark’s Evensong Choir will be joined by the choir of St. Paul’s, Salt Lake City.  Special music for Pentecost includes a motet of the English Renaissance, French music of the Classic tradition and the 20th century, and music of Johann Sebastian Bach.  We hope you will join us!

Outlanders Dinner – May 28, held at the home of Bob Wood. He is preparing something very special for us (lamb shish kabobs) and asks that you PLEASE RSVP prior to May 24, if you are coming. School Awards Sunday and Parish BBQ – We will celebrate the end of the children’s program year on Sunday, June 2 during the 10:30 AM service.  A parish BBQ will follow the service.  The Cathedral will provide grilling items. Adult Christian Formation –This week, our Postulant for Holy Orders, Susan Roberts continues a series on the Christian Mystics of the Faith at 9:15 AM in the Bates Room.

Thursday Bible Study and Lunch – Join us for Holy Eucharist at 10:00 AM followed by Christian Formation and Bible Study at 10:45 AM.  Lunch follows at Noon!

COMMUNITY EVENTS

QPR Suicide Gatekeeper Training – May 21 or May 29 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Murray Library Auditorium. May is mental health awareness month. This simple educational program teaches ordinary citizens how to recognize suicide warning signs and how to get a person at risk the hope and help they need. Turkish Festival, Saturday, June 1, 10 AM -8 PM, Pacifica Institute, 363 W 2720 South, Suite A.  Food, handicrafts, folk dance (11 AM and 3PM) and whirling dervishes (12 noon and 4 PM).  Free admission

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Utah Pride Parade - due to scheduling conflicts, the Cathedral will NOT be able to have an entry in this year’s Pride Festival Parade.  Please mark your calendars now for Pride 2014 [usually the first Sunday of June]. Thank you for your interest in participating. See you next year!

Feed My Sheep – Feed My Sheep, a group of lay members who offer support to members of the parish, meets regularly on the third Sunday of each month following the 10:30 AM service.  Please see Judy Atherton if you are interested in joining this ministry.
